Ultimate Impact Resources

These studies are not meant to be a “cookie-cutter” program to lead people to Jesus, but are to be used as a guide to get someone into the word of God and consider the foundational aspects of making a commitment to make Jesus Lord of your life. They work best when you are building a relationship with a Pre-Christian who is open to studying the word of God with you. They are designed to give a person the ability to make an informed decision as to whether or not they want to become a disciple of Christ. As you get to know them better, pray for wisdom in how best to share this vital information and remember that it is the Lord working through you and through the sword of the Spirit to convict and convince this person of their need for a relationship with God.

THE FIRST MEETING

· Set up a time to talk. Make sure the atmosphere of the meeting place is convenient for a good conversation. Have a modern translation for them if they don’t have their own.

· Share about yourself. Tell them about your conversion, what you were like before youbecame a Christian, why you became a Christian and how your life is different now.

Ask them where they think they are spiritually. Include some of the following questions in your casual, yet directed conversation:

· What were some of the most important times in shaping your ideas and beliefs about God and religion? When were you closest to God?

· Do you believe in the God of the Bible?

· Have you read the Bible? How much? When?

· Do you believe that the Bible is the Word of God? How dependable is it?

· Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?

· Do you believe that Jesus is God in the flesh?

· Do you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead?

· Do you believe in Heaven and Hell?

· If so, do you believe that if you died right now you would go to Heaven?

· Matthew 7: 7,8

· These are promises with conditions.

· A person must put forth effort toward God.

· Ask - it will be given to you.

· Seek - you will find

· Knock - the door will be opened to you.

· To find God, to learn the truth, to get answers, to learn what life is all about, one

must put forth effort.

· Examples: learning sports, piano, a language, etc. What do you personally put a lot

of effort into?

· It will take time, but it will be worth it. (Tell them you look forward to deepening your

relationship with them). i.e., building a good friendship and helping the person to have

other close friends in the church.

· Set a time for the next study. Always do this after each study before you leave.
